PORCH SONGS 2020
On March 19, 2020, while under lockdown due to Covid-19, I sang "That's Amore" from my front porch to show support for Italy which was deeply affected by the virus, and to honour our front-line healthcare workers. Thus began a series of nightly songs for 48 nights. I stopped when the requirement changed from "stay home" to "stay apart". But one week later I returned and sang twice weekly - one song each Monday and Thursday night until June 25, 2020. Total songs: 61. On the porch song nights, my neighbours emerged from their homes and stood on their porches and driveways for just a few minutes of music and bonding... |
