About NinaIt’s that thing. You know. The thing that makes you “you”. With me, it’s singing.
I started singing as a tiny girl. Singing myself to sleep. Singing as I walked, ran, rode my bike. No matter what path I have taken in life, there’s always been that constant. That thing that’s kept me grounded. That makes me strong. Singing. First it was at the piano. Playing and singing broadway tunes, pop and folk. Then it was in musicals. Roles in Gypsy, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Babes in Arms, parodies in law school... Then it was jazz. Joining the Advocats jazz combo, with musicians who were fellow law school students. Something new, exciting, challenging. Then it was big band jazz. The Advocats Big Band was formed. A whole new adventure. The thrill of singing in front of so many musicians! Then it was R & B. Joining the Tokyo Giants and finding a voice I never knew I had. And so much more. At every opportunity. With Atomic Cocktail swing band. With Chris Reid. With The Way Back singing three and four part harmonies in a 60s 70s 80s cover band. With Fifth Element jazz quintet. Singing with pianists including Dale Scaife and Jack Gelbloom. Toronto has so much live music to offer and I am delighted to be part of that experience. I have performed at Old Mill Toronto, The Rex Hotel, The Duke Toronto, Reid's Distillery, Gate 403, 120 Diner, Relish Bar & Grill, Chick'n'deli, Smokeshow BBQ & Brew and at many other venues. I sing at private parties, weddings, fundraisers, corporate events, retirement homes... Take a stroll through the pages here. You’ll see where I’m performing next. You can hear recordings I’ve made on my own and with others over the years. Contact me for your upcoming events in and around Toronto. I would love to sing for you. |
